A trip to Clare is always highly anticipated for a city boy who loves Clare Valley wines, a cycle ride on the Riesling Trail and a weekend getaway! But the weekend’s highlight was certainly the ‘Rock with the Reds’ dinner dance at the Clare Country Club on Saturday 14 April 2012.
Over 100 ‘diehards’ from the Princes Community, including many Old Reds and their partners, feasted on a beautifully prepared meal, enjoyed fine Coopers beers, Wicks Estate Wines and Kilikanoon’s Vouvray, and danced till 1:00 am to the party rhythms of the ‘Flaming Sambucas’.
This event, a departure from many previous Old Red Regional dinners, was a year in the planning. Grateful thanks to our driving force Anthony May who kept the organisational wheel turning, and co-ordinated the venue and sponsors.
‘Rock With The Reds’ is a longstanding Old Reds tradition of dining and partying, and the PAOCA plans to hold this event every two or three years in a SA regional centre. Bringing together Old Reds and their partners, to enjoy each other’s company, is a key role of the PAOCA.
